An update on our development in your neighbourhood

Site during lockdown August 2021

What’s happening in your area?

Kāinga Ora have been able to reopen our sites in Cannons Creek to continue activities, including earthworks at our Niger Street site, completing demolition on Calliope Crescent and drilling small holes (boreholes) in Bothamley Park. We have also started our parks engagement seeking community feedback on how we enhance three parks in eastern Porirua.

We have delayed some work such as private homeowner surveys, but will reengage with neighbours as soon as we are at a safer Alert Level.

What does it mean?

Restarting work on these sites means we can continue our work towards supplying new, warm, dry homes to the community. It might also mean you notice activities on our sites more than before, especially as many people will still be at home during this time. We will work to minimise disruption as much as possible and thank you for your patience.

Keeping everyone safe

The wellbeing of our people and communities is our priority. All construction and site workers working near your home will be following strict new rules to keep themselves, you, and the community, safe from Covid-19. These rules will comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Ministry of Health guidelines.
